Clockwork

My body is so used to its normal mealtimes (7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm) that when I deviate from it I never know how to respond to my hunger cues!

Even though I ate really late last night I woke up this morning starving and had a piece of toast with almond butter before my run. (150)

At 10am I had breakfast which was 1 cup of cottage cheese/plain yogurt mixed (90) with half a flax muffin (150), 1 chopped banana (100), and some cracker crumbs and cereal (70). Breakfast: (360)

At noon I had a smoothie made with 2 handfuls of spinach, 1 banana, 2 tbsp of plain yogurt, 5 ice cubes and 1 cup of almond milk. I threw in a pinch of guar gum for thickness and that stuff doesn't mess around! Recipe made two servings, I'm estimating half as 70 calories.

At 2pm I had lunch which was 1/3 a serving of Amy's bunny pasta with yummy cheese (210) with some chopped ham (40) and kabocha squash w almond butter (50). Lunch: (300)

At 7:30 I had dinner, it's pretty chilly today so I wanted something warm. Had a cup of butternut squash soup with some pumpkin and carrot chunks mixed in (130) and melted in some chunks of cheese, (80) garlic toast on the side (130). Dinner: (340)

Savory dinners always leave me craving something sweet so I had 4 crackers topped with chocolate peanut butter with a generous sprinkle of coconut flakes. (80)

Not pictured are a serving of crackers and some nut butter out of the jar. (200)

Total Caloric Intake: Pre-Breakfast (150) + Breakfast (360) + Smoothie (70) + Lunch (300) + Dinner (340) + Dessert (80) + Snack (200) = (1500)

Exercise: 25minute run (-200) + 50min walk (-180)

Net Calories so far: (1120)

Not terrible but I am definitely eating more than I need to. Hopefully once school starts I'll be able figure out an eating schedule which works better for me. Tomorrow is my first day back! My faculty is organizing a BBQ and after checking out the menu (cheeseburgers, chips and pop) I may opt out early and just head to work instead.

  2. PS I am very impressed with your food blog. I am still in the catch up phase. You should look at all the bad food I've been eating. You will cringe. I will update more entries on my terrible foodies tmr. :)

  3. Calorie counting is a pain in the ass, but it's the only way that dieting is going to work for me. I don't want to cut out food groups or do a fad diet where I can only eat yellow foods after sunset etc etc ... :) after a while you get used to it!
